The ACLU and Their ‘Evolution”
The greatest threat to our society, after the jihad, is home grown … it is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This is the same organization that claims it looks out for the rights of the ‘little guy’, but more often than not it is only when “the little guy” agrees with their agenda. With unlimited funds and the help of liberal judges they have been able to re-interpret the Constitution with most of their court challenges. Thus, they have not only expanded the right of privacy to the right of abortion, but also the separation of church and state to separation of church from state. They came to national prominence when they defended the evolutionist teacher John Scopes in the infamous Tennessee ‘Scopes Trial’(1925 Dayton, Tenn.). There two time Democratic Presidential Candidate and Fundamentalist Christian, Williams Jennings Bryan, took on the learned attorney for the ACLU, Clarence Darrow. Although the trial was won by Creationist Bryan he made a grievous mistake which tainted his victory. Rather than stay part of the prosecution he agreed to take the stand as an expert on the bible. Darrow led his prideful prey into the quandary of age old questions like the belief in: the biblical flood, the whale that swallowed Jonah, Joshua making the sun stand still, and the creation of earth in seven days.
That was a time in which our limited scientific evidence lead most to conclude evolution was a rational explanation for creation. Charles Darwin had promised disciples like Clarence Darrow that we merely had to wait for the discovery of fossils which would provide us with the ‘missing link’ between species. Yet, even today, after the examination of millions of fossils, there is still no scientific evidence for the Theory of Evolution. All species in effect appear suddenly and complete in the fossil record. The encumbered explanation of punctuated equilibrium (that there are periods of change so fast as not to be recorded in the fossils) shows how desperate they have become to explain the unexplainable. Today, it has been the age old biblical stories, those which stumped Jennings, that hold more scientific credibility than evolution. Yet the ACLU goes out of its way to bring law suites against any school system who would reveal these proofs to their students … the exact opposite stance taken by Clarence Darrow in his valiant search for truth. For instance today the evidence for a world wide flood abounds. Great depths of sedimentation are found on every continent. Animals entrapped in that sedimentation have fossilized according to their weight, not their complexity. Furthermore history records cases in which humans have been swallowed by large fish and survived. Add to that the fact that the Assyrians (those Jonah was to preach to and the ministry he was running from when swallowed by that fish) were worshiping fish … and you have perhaps the most dramatic entrance a Deity could devise to introduce His prophet to that society … the prophet emerged from a fish. As far as the stories of the sun standing still … that was thought to be a myth until the United States contemplated their moon shot. NASA had to “rewind” creation’s clock to co-ordinate the orbit of the earth with that of the moon. At that time it was discovered there was ‘missing time’ … the exact time allotted for in the bible (Books of Joshua and Isaiah). Finally comes the age old question: “Did God really create the universe in 7 literal days?” This question is fraught with peril, but that peril pales in the face of the ‘scientific’ Big Bang Theory. In order to believe in the ‘Big Bang’ you must believe that three things came together and exploded randomly into every bit of complexity that exists in the universe. We are told that: Time + Space + Chance exploded to form the universe. Time is a measure of movement … no thing; space is a vacuum … a total lack of matter … no thing; and chance is a mathematical probability … no thing. Thus, post-modern science is teaching our children a lesson in absurdity … nothing, plus nothing, plus nothing … somehow comes together and explodes into everything. Belief in that theory takes more faith than belief in the biblical theory that an organized Creator being, who has always been, creates this universe specifically for his ‘image bearers’ … mankind … then condescends to become one of His creatures via birth from a virgin, in a barn, and is ‘welcomed’ by His creatures by an all to familiar human pattern … torture and destruction of those who are different.
