The Single Most Important Issue of the Day …
Like it or not, the single greatest issue of our time is the War on Terror. Nonetheless, the problem with that issue is that Americans do not take it seriously. While accusations of ‘quagmire’ abound, the success of Administration programs in preventing another attack may be the very reason most have been lulled into a false sense of security. We simply no longer believe that they can or will ‘reach out and touch us’. After merely five years the lesson of 911 has been forgotten. As citizens busy themselves with the mundane the plight and plea of our soldiers have taken aback seat. After all it is football season and the holidays are right around the corner. So we ignore the brave souls who have put themselves on the front line to protect these shores.
What has happened to us since 911? Can any remember how we were so united? But soon after the over throw of Saddam the American left purposely divided this nation by attacking everything Bush. When the President landed on that air craft carrier and told our military ‘job well done’ … it was done. But next came the left’s sword of divisiveness. Without evidence they exclaimed to the world that: he lied, he cheated, and he plotted … and the jihad was listening. Whether it was that he made up the Weapons of Mass Destruction or that Bush, not Osama, plotted and carried out the attacks on 911, the Democrats relied on a willing accomplish in the press to print their rancor.  Perhaps they had their coming out party with Abu Ghariab and the ever present accusations of ‘torture’. Of course the press was careful to outline that everything from playing loud music to sleep deprivation qualified as torture if America is the perpetrator. But anything Islamic committed on our troops is permissible. While the enemy routinely hacks our troops to death and desecrates their bodies the press waves the banner of Political Correctness, emphasizing only America’s miscues. They excuse torture, real physical torture, as long as Americans not Islamists are the victims.
Make no mistake, I fthe Democrats had not chosen to attack the Iraq aspect of the War on Terror our military would be home for Christmas and we would be celebrating an all out victory against the jihad. But with propagandists ever aiding and abetting (publishing sniper killing of Americans, CNN, as well as secret documents, NY Times) the enemy has been embolden. Information like this does not further our understanding of the war, rather it demoralizing both citizens and soldiers. Would Iran(Shiites) and Syria have dared to send troops (Hezbollah) against America and Israel immediately after 911? The pages of history are littered with the demise of millions simply because the political climate favored appeasement. How many were sacrificed in Hitler’s, Stalin’s, or Saddam’s prisons because the expedient outweighed truth?
Folks, if this nation were united there would be no insurgency. It is as if we have forgotten that war and civility are oxymoron. In World War II America seemed to understand the difference between good and evil in the world. But just because the naive and arrogant have taken over the wavelengths does not change the fact that Islamo-fascism is evil. If these fascists were allowed to vote in the up coming American election, who do you think he would vote for … Democrats or Republicans? When will we realize that this enemy is not unlike the North Vietnamese, whom history teaches, would have given up on the battle field were it not for the encouragement received from America’s left and main stream media. But there is a difference in these wars. The North Viet Namese did not threaten your family … the jihad does. Not unlike the Jane Fonda’s of yesteryear, there are famous Americans who feel it is not important that we win in Iraq. Last week on “The View” and then again on “The David Letterman Show” Bill O’Reilly asked Rosie O’Donald and David Letterman if they wanted America to win in Iraq … neither answered. Rosie chided him explaining that we can no longer think in terms of right and wrong. She avoided the question and her silence, as well as Letterman’s, was deafening. Their basic logic is defective. The new left is determined that our troops and our families are expendable … simply because they want to win an election and get back their power. Yet, before anything else … when the United States is at war … all citizens should be on the side of victory. It is that simple …we have asked Americans to meet an enemy who is both directly or indirectly responsible for the killing of 3,000 civilians, almost twice the number as Pearl Harbor, the least we can do is hope and pray they win. Because to them and to us winning is not a matter of political power, it is a matter of life and death.
