She’s blonde, she’s beautiful, and she’s believable … no she’s not the latest in a line of teachers turned child molesters … she is the ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame.  On Friday Ms. Plame spoke to Congress … she accused the administration of ‘punching her in the gut’ by revealing her undercover status.  Poor beautiful Ms. Plame … as a government worker she made less than 6 figures or there abouts, but now that she has been outed by these mean Republicans she has made to live on a whole new budget … for instance the mere 6 million dollar advance for her book deal.  But that windfall must be added to the millions netted by speaking engagements, as well as the book and movie deal giver her leftist husband … Joe Wilson … for misleading the American public.

When will this Bush bashing come to an end?  Even after the exoneration of a four year investigation headed by activist Democratic prosecutor Patrick Fitgerald and a Congressional hearing … all proving the administration did not reveal her status … and after irrefutable evidence that she was not undercover or covert for the past five years … including a written record of a donation  to the then Presidential candidate Al Gore in 1998 in which she listed her employer as the CIA as well as the fact that she went to work every day for the past several years through the front door of  CIA headquarters … Ms. Plame claims to have been ‘covert and undercover’.  What the press, with the exception of Fox News, failed to explain was that these terms, covert and undercover, have legal definitions. One can only wonder why no Congressman asked her if she fell under the legal definition of covert or under cover.   Ms. Plame also testified that she did not know how her husband was grated the assignment to go to Niger in the first place.  After all this is a Republican Administration, why would they send a Democratic operative on such a mission?  She said that some person ‘she could not recall’ assigned him that post.  Wow, Ms. Plame must have been some kind of undercover agent … an assignment from which they have gleaned millions of dollars and this career CIA agent cannot remember who assigned the very task that started this whole windfall.  Yet she could  remember that after she had pointed out that the office of the Vice President claimed that Yellow Cake uranium might be sold to Saddam from that nation, somebody mentioned that her husband be given the assignment.  The fact that he covered up his discovery that Saddam had indeed attempted to purchase that precursor for a nuclear bomb was buried in his report did not seem to be important to any in Congress … only the fact that her ‘undercover and covert’ status was destroyed and she can no longer work for the CIA and she will be forced to live on the 10 or 20 million dollars afforded them by this scandal … be still my heart.

According to Ms. Plame’s testimony we are to believe that because she was once covert that she should be granted that title and status, not unlike the honor bestowed upon a coronal or general.  And that seems to be the ‘crime’ this administration is guilty of … not honoring her title in the standard she had set.  Thus, even though she no longer was undercover, even though it was her husband and her own actions which clearly and publicly made her status known to the world, and even though a four year probe proved that the administration did nothing wrong … this Congress feels that it is more important to co-operate with a willing press to bloody the nose of the administration, rather than tackle important issues, such as Social Security, Medicare, tax rates, etc.  What has come to pass as justice in this nation is a memory lapse from the right is a lie and worthy of imprisonment, but when the memory lapse comes from the left, especially from a pretty blonde … that is simply a misuse of the language … kind of like the definition of what is is.
