I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; I thought the news had it wrong Harry Reid, the head of the Senate, with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in the background, stating that we had lost in Iraq and that even though I am not in Bagdad, he knows better than the generals.  He then declared, much to the joy of the jihad, that we have lost in Iraq.  Now stay with me a moment because if this is not an eclipse of reason, there never has been one.  In the midst of the civil war in Gaza, and the terrorist faction Hamas filling the void left by the Israelis, he is telling us to retreat from Iraq.  What?  He cannot wait until September for the very method and leaders they approved merely months ago?  He is proving, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the success for the Democratic Party is allied with the death of our soldiers.  Does that sound too radical?  Well, what does war time defeat mean … if not that the loosing side has more dead guys than the winning side.   What is more is that nobody on the left has addressed the question: if we leave Iraq, who fills the void?  All we have to do is look a little south and west.  Who has filled the void in Gaza?  Can anybody remember just two years ago when the world was pressuring Israel to leave Gaza and allow the Palestinians “democracy and self rule”.  So they bowed to the political left, built a wall to keep out the terrorists, and waited.  The terrorist group, Hamas, backed by the last two members of the axis of evil, Syria and Iran, has filled the void.  So now, when the attacks resume from the south (Gaza Hamas), and the north (Lebanon Hezbollah – the first rockets hit on Sunday), Israel will be caught in the middle and how many more lives will it cost Israel to occupy and protect its population as they once again will be forced to invade a land they had already held and controlled merely two years ago?
Now lets contrast that to America and Iraq who will fill the void in Iraq should America pull out?  It will most certainly be Hezbollah  (Iranian Shiite terrorists) and al Qaeda (Sunni terrorists).  They are already present and responsible for the insurgency in that nation. Finally, who will the world insist liberate the oppressed minority Kurds and Sunni caught in the middle should we pull out?  Will it not be America, and will we not be making the same mistake Israel has repeated?
