Dear friends and family:
As far as the economy goes, here is a suggestion sent by both Davenport Richard and Fredonia Patti … makes sense to me!
I wish I could vote for whoever came up with this brilliant idea!!!
Subject: Against AIG bailout -This really makes sense…, leave it to a smart American tofigure it out! Call your Senators & Congressman politicians and demand they pass this and $@#@ the Wall Street dogs!
I’m against the $85 BILLION bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a”We Deserve It” dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bona fide U.S.citizens, aged 18+. Our population is about 301 million counting every man, woman and child. So, 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up. Now, divide 200 million, 18+ adults into $85 billion – that equals $425,000.00 each! Yes,my plan is to give that $425,000 to every adult as a “We Deserve It” dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So, let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Everyone would pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25.5 billion rightback to Uncle Sam! It also means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 intheir pocket.
How better can we help the victims of Hurricane Ike?

A husband and wife would have $595,000.00! What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads.
Put away money for college – it’ll really be there.
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs.
Invest in the market – capital drives growth.
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves (but then again, they would have the money to do that, wouldn’t they?)
Enable deadbeat parents to come clean – or else.
Remember this is for every adult U.S. citizen, 18 and older (including thefolks who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company that is cutting back), and, of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces (In fact if they have fought in any war, why not wave the taxes on them?).
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth, let’s really do it! Instead of trickling out a puny $1,000 “economic incentive”.
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U.S. citizen! As for AIG (or the other Robber barons) – liquidate them, wouldn’t that happen to us? Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
We deserve the money and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea, but can you imagine the coast-to-coast block party? How do you spell Economic Boom … ‘We Deserve It Dividend’! I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 billion, after all if anybody deserves it, we do, after all it is our money, isn’t it? And remember, my plan only really costs $59.5 billion because $25.5 billionis returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Good idea? I think so!
I agree, good idea from Fredonia and Davenport!

From Batavia Val … Italian Women are Tough
An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death,
he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite ravioli wafting up the stairs.
He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed.
Gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs.
When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he leaned against the door frame,
gazing into the kitchen, where if not for death’s agony, he would have thought himself
already in heaven, for there , spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were hundreds of his favorite ravioli.
Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of love from his wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?
He threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture.
His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the ravioli was already in his mouth.
With a trembling hand he reached up to the edge of the table, when suddenly he was smacked with a wooden spoon by his wife.
‘NO she said.
‘Those are for the funeral.’

Prayer Request:
First from our dear friends in Clermont Florida:
I have a special prayer request for you and Bill. I was laid off last Thursday after 11 years. I was the 1st employee for the company. Business is really bad for the construction industry. The thing that worries Garry the most is that I will have no insurance after October 31st. We could get it through Garry’s school but it would cost $600+ a month. We definitely can’t afford that at this time.
Just pray that God will lead and we will follow the right path for this.
Love you guys,
Wanda
