The New Party… this time it will work

Are you dissappointed becasue the ‘change you can believe in’ has become the change you cannot live with? Are you ready to start a new party, but realize for all intent and purposes that will be throwing your vote away? There is hope, and it does reside in a new party, but the new party must be unique. It must target only one issue at a time. The goal of a new party must be not to waste a vote and to work within the two party system. You have seen me push for a one issue party which would have as its goal Term Limits. When we think of a new party we are afraid. We have seen the Pro-Life, Conservative, Liberal, Green Party, even Ross Perot’s “Reform Party of 1992”, all go by the way side. Moreover voting for any one of these parties gave the opposition an advantage. Many still argue that President H.W. Bush would have easily defeated President Clinton in 1992 had it not been for the 20% drawn away from him by Perot. Therefore, the goal of a new party must be not to work within the two party system, but force them to support the issues in which the people champion.
How can this be accomplished?

First the party would be “One Issue Party”. That party would caucus every voting cycle and identify a single issue. The issue would be one which the majority of Americans feel is important, yet the Congress has ignored. Issues such as:
1. Constitutional Amendment for Term Limits
2. Constitutional Amendment for prayer in school
3. Illegal Immigration issue, English only, and border security
4. An end to social programs in education and a return to fact based text books

Let’s assume Term Limits would be the first issue. The party would then support any candidate from either party who would pledge to bring up and vote for that issue. If they did not they would face a primary in their next election and/or support for the opposition party. This would force the parties to pay attention, yet the people’s issues would win the day.

Please realize that the two party system is important because it both provides stability to any government, and is well entrenched. With a party such as the “One Issue Party”, we the people would once again rule, because the issues we feel are most important would eventually win the day. For instance, with Term Limits the nation would jettison the professional politician and with it all the trappings of “Beltway thinking”. Thomas Payne’s warning against the professional politician would be heeded. He warned that we must keep electing new people to Congress on a regular basis so that when they returned home they would be forced to live with the laws they have passed. The bottom line is the people in the party would decide what issue they would support, and little by little, within ten years or so this nation would be healed.

Computer Virus Set for April 1st

“According to CNN, the Conficker Cabal (a self-named group of computer scientists and security companies) dug through the code of the virus and discovered that it’s programmed to download an update on April 1st. Yes, on April Fool’s Day, a master computer could take control of the millions of infected PCs and turn them into a massive network of criminal-controlled computers. The countdown has begun, but experts in the Conflicker Cabal aren’t sure exactly what to expect; Conficker could easily erase data on infected PCs, take down Web sites, or (more likely) inundate users with prompts to buy fake security software.

The team is working hard towards defeating the ever-evolving virus and finding the criminals responsible for it. The Conficker Cabal is motivated not just by the $250,000 reward offered by Microsoft, but by an apparent love for vigilante style computer justice — Cabal member Alvin Estevez told CNN, “We love catching bad guys…we’re like former hackers who like to catch other hackers.”

The Conficker virus is difficult to detect and even harder to remove. It poses a serious threat to users everywhere, so check out our previous coverage for tips on how to keep yourself safe and how to repair an infected machine.”

California Clint with important advice on heart attacks:

Many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack and without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

Our Bird of Paradise in Bloom

Thom tells why: “I Carry a Gun”

My old grandpa said to me son,’ there comes a time in every man’s life
When he stops bustin’ knuckles and starts bustin’ caps and usually it’s
When he becomes too old to take a _ _ whoopin’.
I don’t carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don’t carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world

I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil.

I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry.
I carry a gun so that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life hating
myself for failing to be prepared.

I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I don’t want anybody to harm my family.

I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the
ones they love.

I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don’t carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful
to me.

Police Protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

From Bud

While the press focused on the cost of Sarah’s dress, they failed to mention the cost of Pelosi’s plane.

Madame Pelosi wasn’t happy with the small private jet that comes with the Speaker’s job…no, Madame Pelosi was aggravated that this little jet had to Stop to refuel, so she ordered a Big Fat 200 seat jet that could get her back to California without stopping!

Many, many legislators walked by and grinned with glee as we were finally told what Nancy’s Big Fat Jet costs us, the hard working American Tax payers, thousands of gallons of fuel every week.

Since she only works 3 days a week, this gas guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California, cost to the taxpayers of about $60,000, one
way!

This is Nancy’s Private Jet paid for by you and I… and she had a ‘fit’ when the auto execs flew their private jets to Washington!

As Joe put it, ‘Unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday Night.’ Cost to us, another $60,000.

Folks, that is $480,000 per month and that is an annual cost to the taxpayers
of $5,760,000. Keep in mind the figures above do NOT include cost of plane or crew, just fuel! No wonder she complains about the cost of this war…it might cramp her style and she is styling, on my back and yours.

Madame Pelosi wants you and me to conserve our carbon footprint. She wants us to buy smaller cars and Obama wants us to get a bicycle pump and air up our tires. One wonders what her total package cost us? And She wants to tax our IRA’s & 401 K’s!

Again from Bud: Snopes has been Snoped

For the past few years www.snopes.com has positioned itself, or others have labeled it, as the ‘tell all final word’ on any comment, claim and email. Yet recently I have used it and found it championed only the liberal side of the question.

For several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com. Well, finally we know. It is run by a husband and wife team – that’s right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers. It’s just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby.

David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started the website about 13 years ago – and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research. After a few years it gained popularity believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the past couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation? The reason for the questions – or skepticisms – is a result of snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when in fact they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the ‘true’ bottom of various issues. I can personally vouch for that complaint.

A few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the internet, ‘supposedly’ the Mikkelson’s claim to have researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort ‘ever’ took place.

I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this and I gave him Bud Gregg’s contact phone numbers – and Bud was going to give him phone numbers to the big exec’s at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm. Yet, snopes.com issued a statement as the ‘final factual word’ on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things – not!

Then it has been learned the Mikkelson’s are a very Democratic (party) and extremely LIBERAL I found this to be true during the recent election, when everything Negative about BO was False at least not Bias is “true or fiction”. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative. Like religion — There has been much criticism lately over the internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson’s liberalism revealing itself in their website findings. Gee, what a shock?

So, I say this now to everyone who goes to www.snopes.com to get what they think to be the bottom line facts…’proceed with caution.’ Take what it says at face value and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself. Plus, you can always google a subject and do the research yourself. It now seems apparent that’s all the Mikkelson’s do. After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their ‘not’ fully looking into things.
