Life is not about avoiding the storms, it is about learning to live with the rain.

Dear friends and family;

Lighter Side From the Blog:

Pelosi and the Pope from Big Jim

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on the same stage in front of a huge crowd.
The Madame Speaker and the Pope, however, have seen it all before.
To make it a little more interesting, Madame Speaker says to the Pope, “Did You know that with just one little wave of my hand I can make every Democrat in the crowd go wild?”
He doubts it, so she shows him. Sure enough, the wave elicits rapture and cheering from every democrat in the crowd. Gradually, the cheering subsides.
The Pope, not wanting to be outdone by such a level of arrogance, considers what he could do… “That was impressive, the Pope says, “But did you know that with just one little wave of my hand I can make many people in the crowd, and many around the world, go crazy with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display like that of your subjects, but will go deep into their hearts, and they will forever speak of this day and rejoice.”
The speaker seriously doubts this, and says so. “One little wave of your hand and so many people will rejoice forever? Show me.”
So the Pope slapped her!!!

Prayer Requests from the Blog…
Wanda S called this afternoon and said that her sister-in-law died yesterday. This is the one that she had requested prayer. Her husband (Wanda’s brother) has cancer also. They had been married for 50 years. He is devastated as you can well imagine. He also got a report from the doctor that said that his heart is very weak. He is in his seventies. Wanda is very concerned about him. Please pray for them all.
Wanda also said that the young woman (best friend of her niece) that was having tests to diagnose her facial and neck problems sent us this e-mail:
Cassy had the office visit with the surgeon at Vanderbilt this morning. They did another biopsy and determined that she does have cancer. The doctor didn’t tell her what kind it was. He just said it was usually fatal, but he did give her a 50/50 chance to survive. He said he thought she already had nerve damage in her face that couldn’t be repaired and that he would probably have to remove some of the bones in her face. He really won’t know until he performs the surgery. Please continue to pray for her and her family.
