Who is This Man?

Perhaps the President’s most obvious missed opportunity came last week.  It was the week, amonst many other things, that our combat troops began to leave Iraq.  Rather than take the hand of President Bush and welcome the combat troops home… rather than celebrate them with a ticker tape parade… rather than even mention their valor, he chose Martha’s Vineyard and siding with the 911 Mosque.

In what could have been a stellar moment in American History our President fell silent.  President Obama had the opportunity to reach across the aisle, to bury the hatchet, and to say, well done to a former president, and more importantly to his troops.

It was a moment in time where the perception of partisanship and divisiveness could have been overshadowed with a magnanimous gesture.  A gesture which, to some, would have meant an admission that he was wrong about the surge, wrong about the war in Iraq, and wrong about the valor of our troops, he fell short on all fronts.  It matters not that he has carried out the Bush doctrine on both fronts of this war, asking young men and women to give their lives for his goals in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It matters only that he appeases the antiwar radicals on his fringe.  This was the time for him to underline he was for troops, not the radicals, and help this nation take a giant step forward.  A step toward healing, and away from partisanship.  Instead he chose to ignore the occasion.  He seems not to understand that these troops no longer are fighting for or under President Bush, they are now following his orders.  He is the Commander in Chief, and as such, he owed them at least a salute, a parade, and a united gesture with the former president, as a sign of victory against a well entrenched enemy.

Instead he injected himself in the controversial location of the 911 Mosque and came down on the side of the 1^st Amendment.  As if anybody is arguing against it.  It is curious where these people have been all of the year’s conservative Christians have been fighting tooth and nail for their First Amendment Rights and their freedom to worship any place they deem ‘proper’.

So, in the week that our combat mission in Iraq has all but ended and troops are heading home, in a week that another of the world’s rogue nations has gone nuclear, in a week that this president defends the right of the 911 Mosque, rather than its ‘properness’… he jets off for another vacation, his sixth this year.  He chose yet another vacation rather than recognizing the sacrifice of life and limb our service men and women have given for this nation.  The very fact that they deposed one of the world most heinous dictatorships and brought freedom to the Middle East was not even mentioned.  The fact that it was a Muslim nation which was freed, and that America has not and will not impose their faith or their government on that nation, was not mentioned.  The fact that it took the blood and valor of our service men and women, fighting under his, as well as President Bush’s command, was ignored.  Rather he exited for yet another elitist vacation, as the people are left wondering… who is this man we have elected our president?

Jamestown Patti Larry watched, fascinated, as his mother smoothed cold cream on her face. ‘Why do you do that, mommy?’ he asked. ‘To make myself beautiful,’ said his mother, who then began removing the cream with a tissue. ‘What’s the matter, asked Larry ‘Giving up?’ The math teacher saw that Larry wasn’t paying attention in class. She called on him and said, ‘Larry! After a few minutes, Larry asked, ‘Dad, why are you doing that?’ His father replied, ‘Because when I’m buying horses, I have to make sure that they are healthy and in good shape before I buy. Larry, looking worried, said, ‘Dad, I think the UPS guy wants to buy Mom ….’

The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart. ‘What do you think you’re doing?’ asks the wife. ‘They’re on sale, only $10 for 24 cans he replies.

‘Put them back, we can’t afford them demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping.

A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.
What do you think you’re doing?’ asks the husband.

‘It’s my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,’

Her husband retorts: ‘So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it’s half the price.’

It’s a short but good read.  Worth the time.  Worth remembering! 545 vs. 300,000,000 EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE.  READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE. Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years. 545 PEOPLE — By Charlie Reese Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don’t propose a federal budget.  The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations.  The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.  In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.  They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing.  I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.  The politician has the power to accept or reject it.  No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.  No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits… The president can only propose a budget.  He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.  Who is the speaker of the House?  Nancy Pelosi.  She is the leader of the majority party.  She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.  If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility.  I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.  When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red .. If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ. If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.  Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power.. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees… We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Connect the dots

A small bank in Chicago called SHORE BANK almost went bankrupt during the recession. The bank made a profit on its foreign micro-loans (see below) but had lost money in sub-prime mortgages in the US. It was facing likely closure by federal regulators. However, because the bank’s executives were well connected with members of the Obama Administration, a private rescue bailout was arranged. The bank’s employees had donated money to Obama’s Senate campaign. In other words, Shore Bank was too politically connected to be allowed to go under.

Shore Bank survived and invested in many “green” businesses such as solar panel manufacturing. In fact, the bank was mentioned in one of Obama’s speeches during his election campaign because it subjected new business
borrowers to eco-litmus tests.

Prior to becoming President, Obama sat on the board of the JOYCE FOUNDATION, a liberal charity. This foundation was originally established by Joyce Kean’s family which had accumulated millions of dollars in the lumber industry. It mostly gave funds to hospitals but after her death in 1972, the foundation was taken over by radical environmentalists and social justice extremists.

This JOYCE FOUNDATION, which is rumored to have assets of 8 billion dollars, has now set up and funded, with a few partners, something called the CHICAGO CLIMATE EXCHANGE, known as CXX. It will be the exchange (like the Chicago Grain Futures Market for agriculture) where Environmental Carbon Credits are traded.

Under Obama’s new bill, businesses in the future will be assessed a tax on how much CO2 they produce (their Carbon Footprint) or in other words how much they add to global warming. If a company produces less CO2 than
their allotted measured limit, they earn a Carbon Credit. This Carbon Credit can be traded on the CXX exchange. Another company, which has gone over their CO2 limit, can buy the Credit and “reduce” their footprint and tax liability. It will be like trading shares on Wall Street.

Well, it was the same JOYCE FOUNDATION, along with some other private partners and Wall Street firms that funded the bailout of Shore Bank.
The foundation is now one of the major shareholders. The bank has now been designated to be the “banking arm” of the CHICAGO CLIMATE EXCHANGE (CXX). In addition, Goldman Sachs has been contracted to run the investment trading floor of the exchange.

So far so good; now the INTERESTING parts.

One Shore Bank co-founder, named Jan Piercy, was a Wellesley College roommate of Hillary Clinton. Hillary and Bill Clinton have long supported the bank and are small investors.

Another co-founder of Shore Bank, named Mary Houghton, was a friend of Obama’s late mother. Obama’s mother worked on foreign MICRO-LOANS for the Ford Foundation. She worked for the foundation with a guy called Geithner. Yes, you guessed it. This man was the father of Tim Geithner, our present Treasury Secretary, who failed to pay all his taxes for two years.

Another founder of Shore Bank was Ronald Grzywinski, a cohort and close friend of Jimmy Carter.

The former Shore Bank Vice Chairman was a man called Bob Nash. He was the deputy campaign manager of Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid. He also sat on the board of the Chicago Law School with Obama and Bill Ayers, the former terrorist. Nash was also a member of Obama’s White House transition team.

(To jog your memories, Bill Ayers is a Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He founded the Weather Underground, a radical revolutionary group that bombed buildings in the 60s and 70s. He had no remorse for those who were killed, escaped jail on a technicality, and is still an admitted Marxist).

When Obama sat on the board of the JOYCE FOUNDATION, he “funneled” thousands of charity dollars to a guy named John Ayers, who runs a dubious education fund. Yes, you guessed it. The brother of Bill Ayers, the terrorist.

Take a look at this and just remember elections in November 2010. 1. U..S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises. They voted toNOTgive you a S.S. Cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011. Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife. Over these same 2-years each Congress person will get $10,000 7.Do you feel used? Will they have your cost of drugs – doctor fees – local taxes – food, etc., decrease? NO WAY. Congress received a raise and has better health and retirement benefits than you or I. Why should they care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. Send the message to these individuals — “YOU’RE FIRED!” In 2010 you will have a chance to get rid of the sitting Congress: up to 1/3 of the Senate and 100% of the House! Make sure you’re still mad in November 2010 and remind their replacements not to screw-up. It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse. Maybe it’s time for Amendment 28 to the Constitution. “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .”

Twila S will be going to the hospital on Friday for a heart catherization and possible stint.

David and Sheila D’s house in Maryland may have a renter — an assisted living facility.

Vicki Ley’s niece Nikki has a spot on her lung which hasn’t grown in two months. She will begin the process of reconstructive surgery in October. (You will remember she is the young lady who had a double mastectomy a few months ago.)
