Hi Bill,
Finished the book, what a great read! While it traces the lives of you and Marilyn, it has multiple applications. I think you’d be a great instructor in ethics. The principles of running a cutting edge dental practice in an honorable fashion come through loud and clear. I always have put ethical behavior above any “quick fix,” and I can say it has paid off. When I think of you as a dentist, you were always the “benchmark” that I used in evaluating other dentists. It is a shame that illness prematurely ended your service to so many people.
I clearly recall Janie and Aggie in your office. The most memorable experience in your office was an early morning cleaning when I fainted from the ultra sound cleaner hitting a nerve. I think they call it a sort of ”vagal nerve” reaction? You came running in ready to start CPR about the time I was coming to. You mentioned at that time that I must have had some bad dental experiences in my youth, which hit the nail on the head.
In regards to the dogs you’ve owned, did you train them to be guard dogs or was it inherent in their species?
Bill, keep writing. You have a great mind and talent for providing informative and great lessons in life.
You take care of yourself and Marilyn, and keep doing your good work, whether in prayer or writing.

I thought in light of the above I would repeat this essay I wrote on Monday:
Why Does God Answer Only Some Prayers?
Well, to be honest… He doesn’t. God answers all prayers, but He is all powerful and all knowing. But sometimes we do not understand how it could be right or just that He take home a loved one, when we so want them with us. He does this because their time on earth is finished, their ministry is complete and it is best for that soul to be home with the Lord.
We humans, especially in our society, forget that we are all appointed unto death. None will escape death… and only He knows the perfect timing.

Betsy’s grandmother for dementia/Alzheimer’s and her grandfather for strength (main care giver)
Keep Marge F’s nephew Steven in prayer has had a reoccurrence of colon cancer, it is inoperable and he is presently receiving (or soon will be undergoing) chemo and radiation. It has metastasized to the liver.
Marilyn’s father is still in pain and weak from his surgery, but is doing exceedingly well and continues to improve. Please continue to pray for him.
Pastor Lyell’s mother still hospitalized with pneumonia… but has returned to her home in Washington State.
Baby niece Camdyn (Valarie and Les’s granddaughter) continues to gain strength and improve after heart surgery… please continue to pray.
Tricia and family for loss of her mother
Our good friends the Kilpatrick’s, former pastor Ashwood Wesleyan Church, lost their oldest son Stephen in a motor cycle accident. Continue to keep them in prayer.
