Dear folks;

As far as the debate last night, let me ask you one question: did you learn anything you did not know, that is if you were able to stay awake the entire time? I actually took notes to keep my attention riveted on these guys. What kind of “Town Hall Meeting” is it when a liberal commentator gets to screen the questions? The whole purpose of this kind of meeting is to hear the concerns of the people, not of Tom Brokaw. Did you notice there was nothing on: character or relationships with anarchists and or terrorists, nothing on the 2nd Amendment, nothing on abortion, nothing on ACORN, etc. There wasn’t enough emotion in that entire debate to qualify for dinner at my house on a Sunday afternoon … sorry, the best word to describe this was not debate, it was mind-numbing.
So, perhaps we should start with the lighter side in these times of political and economic turmoil …

Marilyn’s musings
JOKES THAT CAN BE TOLD IN CHURCh:

Trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late! Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late!’ While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again! As she ran she once again began to pray, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late…But please don’t shove me either!’

An elderly woman died last month. Having never married, she requested no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote, ‘They wouldn’t take me out while I was alive, I don’t want them to take me out when I’m dead.’
A police recruit was asked during the exam, ‘What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?’ He answered, ‘Call for backup.’

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five
and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to ‘Honor thy father and
thy mother,’ she asked, ‘Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat
our brothers and sisters?’ Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, ‘Thou shall not kill.’

And just one that perhaps shouldn’t be told in church …

A married couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered.
Upon their arrival, the doctor said that the hospital was testing an amazing new high-tech machine that would transfer a portion of the
mother’s labor pain to the baby’s father. He asked if they were interested.
Both said they were very much in favor of it.
The doctor set the pain transfer to 10 percent for starters, explaining that even 10 percent was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before. But as the labor progressed, the husband felt fine and asked
the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch.
The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20 percent pain transfer.
The husband was still feeling fine. The doctor then checked the husband’s blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing.
At this point they decided to try for 50 percent. The husband continued to feel quit e well. Since the pain transfer was obviously helping the wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him.
The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain, and the husband had experienced none. She and her husband were ecstatic.
When they got home they found the UPS man dead on the porch.

I was talking to a friend of mine’s little girl the other day. I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she replied, “I want to be President!” Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there. So then I asked her, “If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?”
She replied, “I’d give houses to all the homeless people.”
“Wow – what a worthy goal.” I told her, “You don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where this homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward a new house.”
Since she is only 6, she thought that over for a few seconds. While her Mom glared at me, she looked me straight in the eye and asked, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?”

And I said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.”

Here’s another, take 5 minutes to watch this video; Forget all the other issues—this one is the biggest reason to vote against Obama.
This is the video from that Chicago nurse who was on Fox News the other night, and how she testified against this after-abortion practice that Obama voted for 3 times in the IL senate….

Obama and Alinsky from JB:
As much as Obama writes of admiring Saul Alinsky’s “Rule For Radicals”. If you want to know how he thinks, here is a quote from that book:
“Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default.”
This is “change” so un-American, so frightening that we absolutely cannot let Obama infiltrate our democratic institutions.
