A Terrorist is a Terrorist is a Terrorist
Never argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. But it appears, when it comes to foreign policy be it Bush or Obama, all we have are idiots with whom to argue.. For instance, how can the shooting at Fort Hood perpetuated by Major Nidal Hasan be described as anything but a domestic terrorism?
First let us dismiss the Politically Correct world, as they do their best to make us think this man a victim. He is a murderer, a home grown terrorist, a jihadist who has earned the same fate as Timothy McVeigh. This is a man who was given every opportunity that America has to offer. He was a physician and an officer making a six figure salary, educated on our tax dollars, and supposedly helping our returning warriors deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Yet the inane pundits would have you believe that he was a nut case, like the Columbine killers, a misguided soul who was himself suffering from PTSD (Dr. Phil, Time Magazine, Newsweek Magazine, etc.). If this were true two Politically Incorrect conclusions must be made. First, since he gave away his possessions, is on record supporting suicide bombers, and was seen in Islamic attire an hour or so before the attack, not to mention him shouting “Allah Akbar” as he gunned down the innocent, we would then have to conclude that all jihadists are crazy. Now I do not mind that conclusion, but the next would be that their faith is equally inane. I am not saying that it is, I am saying that is the only logical conclusion from the first idea that he is a Columbine kind of guy.
Next we must make a second absurd conclude that PTSD is contagious, kind of like the H1N1 virus.
It is time to understand that these jihadists, home grown and foreign, are not practicing the ‘religion of peace’. Islam, historically, has been a conquering religion. Yes, Christians have been just as mislead, as have Jews, and even Hindus and Buddhists… but that is not what we are dealing with today, today we are dealing with a great number of Muslims who believe that this jihad is legitimate. Moreover, the only thing they respect is overwhelming defeat… because in that defeat they rationalize that Allah has allowed it so it is his will.
Yet we the people’s representatives in all branches of government and from both parties seem not to understand we are at war. Even our soldiers who heard this jihadist spew his angry venom were intimidated and did not report it (Fox News Chris Wallace) due to fear of being Politically Incorrect and reprimands from their superiors. It is this same ‘misthinnk’ and misunderstanding that accounts for our Attorney General to force our combat warriors to read the enemy the Miranda Rights. Talk about stupid… do we really think the enemy is not paying attention? Do we think that the apologies given abroad did not register with the killers? When is the last time a Jew or Christian was given free education and entrance into the elite as this Muslim was in America… despite his public opinions? likely allowed him the privileges he received undoubtedly replacing another qualified student.

It is time to turn the tide, it is time to dump Political Correctness for facts. We need to go back to Western Logic, and dump the philosophies of humanism and Political Correctness. Why not do something rare in today’s society, why not concentrate on the facts. This is what Washington Post’s Flaherty, Wan, Kravitz, and Davenport did in their article: “Suspect, devout Muslim from Va., wanted Army discharge, aunt said, printed on 11/6/09. They began their article with: “He prayed every day at the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring, a devout Muslim who, despite asking to be discharged from the U.S. Army, was on the eve of his first deployment to war. Yesterday, authorities said Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, a 39-year-old Arlington-born psychiatrist, shot and killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Tex.” Those are the facts, never mind the bleeding hearts, if your hearts bleed, let them bleed for the victims, not the terrorists.

~An Ode to America ~
Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations
and religious beliefs. On 9/ll, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about. Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand. After the first moments of panic, theyraised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: “God Bless America !’
I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people. How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a manor a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. What on earth can unites the Americans in such way? Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion… Only freedom can work such miracles…. The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers’ Party.
Barack Obama is a lawyer.
Michelle Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.
Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer.
Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did
not graduate).
Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd
Bentsen, went to law school.
Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:
Harry Reid is a lawyer.
Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.
The Republican Party is different.
President Bush is a businessman..
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
The leaders of the Republican Revolution:
Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.
House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.
Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford,
who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican
nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in
1976.. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work,
who are often the targets of lawyers.
The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men
who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like
Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.
The Lawyers’ Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and
services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have
seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers’
Party, grow.
Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil
companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large
retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in
our nation. This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their
clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new
laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to
overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.
Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an
awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin
to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing
parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes
all-consuming. Some Americans become “adverse parties” of our very
government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action
suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of
freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

The Morning Bell (Heritage Foundation)
FRIDAY, NOV 6, 2009… 10% Unemployment Shows Objective Failure of Obama Stimulus
Last week the Obama administration issued a report purporting to show that the President’s $787 billion economic stimulus plan had saved or created exactly 640,329 jobs. Such a precise number for such a fuzzy concept as jobs “saved or created” immediately raised doubts about the veracity of the report in any honest American’s mind.
And since that report was issued, a once compliant press has filed story after story tearing the credibility of the Obama administration’s job creation claims to shreds. Just enter the words “stimulus”, “jobs”, and “report” in a Google News search and these are just some of the headlines you will receive:
Stimulus Job Report Filled With Errors
Stimulus Watch: Salary raises counted as saved jobs
White House Tally Appears to Overstate Stimulus Jobs
Reports Show Conflicting Number of Jobs Attributed to Stimulus Money
Stimulus Watchdog: job counters confused, need guidance
Why stimulus jobs aren’t here to stay
Many California jobs ’saved’ by stimulus funds weren’t in jeopardy
Luckily the American people do not need to count on phony new jobs studies to provide the objective data necessary to hold President Barack Obama accountable for his economic policies. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics has been collecting accepted and standardized data employment data since the 1940s. When President Obama was selling his $787 billion stimulus to the American people he promised unemployment would never rise above 7.8% and that by 2010 the U.S. economy would employ 138.6 million jobs.
Today, BLS released its monthly jobs report and the numbers speak for themselves. The economy shed another 190,000 jobs in October, bringing the number of jobs lost since Obama was sworn in to 3.8 million. Worse still, the unemployment rate rose from 9.8% to 10.2% percent. With only 130.8 million jobs in the U.S. economy, President Obama is now 7.8 million jobs short of what he promised the American people. That makes President Obama’s stimulus an objective failure.
gone with wind_1
The Obama stimulus failed because it was based on faulty Keynesian beliefs. Heritage fellow J.D. Foster explains:
The Keynesian stimulus theory fails for the simple reason that it is only half a theory. It correctly describes how deficit spending can raise the level of demand in part of the economy, and ignores how government borrowing to finance deficit spending automatically reduces demand elsewhere.
Fortunately, the economy’s natural recuperative powers may be ending the recession. Last week the Commerce Department reported that the economy grew at 3.5%. But if this recovery is going to include job growth along with GDP growth, then job killing initiatives like Obamacare and cap and trade will have to be abandoned. Senate blocks census US-citizenship question

By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer – Thu Nov 5, 12:52 pm ET
WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats have blocked a GOP attempt to require next year’s census forms to ask people whether they are a U.S. citizen.

illegalaliens_1
The proposal by Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter was aimed at excluding immigrants from the population totals that are used to figure the number of congressional representatives for each state. Critics said Vitter’s plan would discourage immigrants from responding to the census and would be hugely expensive. They also said that it’s long been settled law that the apportionment of congressional seats is determined by the number of people living in each state, regardless of whether they are citizens. A separate survey already collects the data.
The plan fell after a 60-39 procedural vote made it ineligible for attachment to a bill funding the census.

Democratic Deficit Duplicity
David Limbaugh (from Townhall.com)

Tuesday, November 03, 2009
I nearly fell out of my chair as I read this New York Times headline: “Democrats Push for Plan to Cut Deficit.” From the headline alone, I couldn’t tell whether this was before, during or after they supported President Barack Obama’s intentional, exponential escalation of the deficit to $1.4 trillion.
That’s simply immeasurable chutzpah. But just in case you’re ready to be taken in yet again by these fair-weather deficit watchdogs, the first sentence of the Times article reveals their true — and true to form — motive.
“Faced with anxiety in financial markets about the huge federal deficit and the potential for it to become an electoral liability for Democrats, the White House and Congressional leaders are weighing options for narrowing the gap, including a bipartisan commission that could force tax increases and spending cuts.”
Those elections have a stubborn habit of forcing even drunken sailor politicians to pretend to care about other people’s money they otherwise have an unlimited appetite for squandering.
But wait; I thought concern about runaway federal spending was the concern only of those “tea party” protestors the administration has dubbed “potential domestic terrorists” who were carrying “political paraphernalia” — copies of the U.S. Constitution — and engaging in “right-wing extremist chatter” focused “on the economy.”
No, we’re supposed to believe the Democrats care about deficits again, the ones Obama is planning on expanding to between $9 trillion and $13 trillion over the next decade.
We’ve seen this pattern of deception before. Democrats railed against President George W. Bush’s deficits as if they would have curbed federal spending if they had been in power. (We happen to know the rest of that story, don’t we?) When Bush fulfilled ahead of time his 2004 campaign promise of cutting the deficit in half in five years, Democrats mocked his achievement as a temporary blip.
Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney, hands wringing, said: “Only a president with such a historically bad economic record would be this excited about a $248 billion deficit. Under his watch … record surpluses turned into record deficits as far as the eye can see.” It gets even more amusing. The same Associated Press story that contained that quote reported that fueling this Democratic concern over the budget was the Congressional Budget Office projection that the deficit could total $1.76 trillion over the next decade.
You heard correctly. The Dems, just a few short years ago, were savaging Bush, despite his dramatic progress in cutting the budget, because his annual deficit was at the astronomical figure of $248 billion — less than 18 percent of Obama’s intentionally inflated budget of $1.4 trillion this year — and his projected 10-year deficits totaled $1.76 trillion, barely more than Obama’s budget for this one current year and only a small fraction of Obama’s planned cumulative 10-year deficit projections of between $9 trillion and $13 trillion.
A more prominent Democratic lawmaker, Sen. Kent Conrad, piled on Bush, saying: “The fact that some are trumpeting this year’s deficit number as good news shows just how far we’ve fallen. Our budget picture is extremely serious by any measure.” This, by the way, is the same Sen. Conrad who, after threatening not to support President Obama’s pseudo-stimulus package, did support it enthusiastically, without, it should be noted, talking about “just how far we’ve fallen.”…
They cannot be taken seriously on this issue. Their only solution is to raise taxes, forcing hardworking American taxpayers to bail them out yet again and still refusing to restrict their spending. Their talk of cutting spending is just that — talk. Given their current premeditated scheme to spend this nation into bankruptcy, their feint toward fiscal responsibility reveals them as nothing short of cynical, Machiavellian frauds.
The “Costs” of Medical Care
Thomas Sowell
Tuesday, November 03, 2009
We are incessantly being told that the cost of medical care is “too high”– either absolutely or as a growing percentage of our incomes. But nothing that is being proposed by the government is likely to lower those costs, and much that is being proposed is almost certain to increase the costs.
There is a fundamental difference between reducing costs and simply shifting costs around, like a pea in a shell game at a carnival. Costs are not reduced simply because you pay less at a doctor’s office and more in taxes– or more in insurance premiums, or more in higher prices for other goods and services that you buy, because the government has put the costs on businesses that pass those costs on to you.
Costs are not reduced simply because you don’t pay them. It would undoubtedly be cheaper for me to do without the medications that keep me alive and more vigorous in my old age than people of a similar age were in generations past.
Letting old people die would undoubtedly be cheaper than keeping them alive– but that does not mean that the costs have gone down. It just means that we refuse to pay the costs. Instead, we pay the consequences. There is no free lunch….
The high costs of “defensive medicine”– expensive tests, medications and procedures required to protect doctors and hospitals from ruinous lawsuits, rather than to help the patients– could be reduced by not letting lawyers get away with filing frivolous lawsuits….
If a court of law determines that the claims made in such lawsuits are bogus, then those who filed those claims could be forced to reimburse those who have been sued for all their expenses, including their attorneys’ fees and the lost time of people who have other things to do. But politicians who get huge campaign contributions from lawyers are not about to pass laws to do this.
Why should they, when it is so much easier just to start a political stampede with fiery rhetoric and glittering promises?
Heritage Foundation… We Still Hold These Truths
A year ago this week, the American people elected a President who had promised during the campaign that he would: “cut taxes for 95% of workers and their families,” expand the Army by 65,000 and the Marines by 27,000, and enact “a net spending cut” for the federal government. Lower taxes, a strong defense and shrinking the size of government. Those are all core conservative beliefs. Accordingly, President Barack Obama entered the White House with sky high approval ratings.
But since being sworn into office, President Obama has raised taxes, weakened our defenses, and overseen arguably the largest expansion of government ever. As a result President Obama’s approval ratings have steadily declined, and the American people have only become more conservative. According to Gallup, Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative. While independents and Democrats most often say their views haven’t changed, more members of all three major partisan groups indicate that their views have shifted to the right rather than to the left.
And this is before the more radical elements of the Obama agenda are to be forced on the American people. Both the cap and trade and health care legislation currently moving through Congress will transfer unprecedented power from the private sector to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats in Washington. Search the texts of each bill for the phrase “shall” or “may establish.” Every time these phrases appear in these bills, the left in Congress is empowering unelected Obama Czars at the expense of your liberties. And this is not by accident. The empowerment of unelected bureaucrats is at the very core of Obama’s progressive agenda. Hillsdale College Associate Professor of Political Science Ronald Pestritto explains:
It is the Progressives’ desire to free bureaucratic agencies from the confines of politics and the law that allows us to trace the origins of the administrative state to their political thought. The idea of separating politics and administration–of grounding a significant portion of government not on the basis of popular consent but on expertise–was a fundamental aim of American Progressivism and explains the Progressives’ fierce assault on the Founders’ separation-of-powers constitutionalism.

we would like to point out that it was NOT the senior citizens who took:

The melody out of music,
The pride out of appearance,
The courtesy out of driving,
The romance out of love,
The commitment out of marriage,
The responsibility out of parenthood,
The togetherness out of the family,
The learning out of education,
The service out of patriotism,
The Golden Rule from rulers,
The nativity scene out of cities,
The civility out of behavior,
The refinement out of language,

And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from personal relationships and interactions with others!!

And, we do understand the meaning of patriotism, and remember those who have fought and died for our country.

Monastery Life

A young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand.
He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.
The head monk, says, “We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.”
He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn’t been opened for hundreds of years.. Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot. So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging his head against the wall and wailing.
“We missed the ‘R’! ?We missed the R! We missed the R!” His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.
The young monk asks the old abbot, “What’s wrong, father?”
With A choking voice, the old abbot replies, “The word was… CELEBRATE!!!”

Big Jim comments on the Cowboy

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.
Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.” So they created a night
watchman position and hired a person for the job.
Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without
instruction?” So they created a planning department and hired two people, one
person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks
correctly?” So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people.
One to do the studies and one to write the reports.
Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?” So They created
the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer,
Then hired two people.
Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?”
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an
Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal
Secretary.
Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one
Year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost.”
So they laid off the night watchman.
This parable cannot be demonstrated any better than with the Energy Department.
Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT
OF ENERGY…. during the Carter Administration?
Anybody?
Anything? No?
Didn’t think so!
Bottom line. We’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support
of an agency…the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember!
Ready??
It was very simple…and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977…
TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.
AND NOW IT’S 2009 — 32 YEARS LATER — AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS
“NECESSARY” DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR.. THEY HAVE 16,000
FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, “WHAT WAS I THINKING?”
AND, NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TURN THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THEAUTO INDUSTRY OVER TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT.
