A Prayer for America and her people:
Flag with cross here
God our Father, walk through our nation, take away our idolatries, and restore Your presence to our society. Please watch over, strengthen, and heal our families. We beg You to draw us to You, forgive us our great national sin of apathy (i.e. using Your name in vain, accepting abortion, denying public prayer and public worship, placing the god of materialism before You, questioning your authority in marriage, etc) and forgive us our individual trespasses’, as well as empowering us to forgive those who trespass against us… Lord Jesus please show us mercy and grace.
We ask this in the name of Jesus our Savior and Messiah
Amen.

Dental Dynamics:
Two tips which will help assure your teeth for a lifetime
Many of my patients would tell you that I stressed flossing more than brushing. I would tell them if they could take either a spool of floss or a toothbrush on an extended trip, I would choose the floss. This may no longer be the case with advances in toothpastes and automatic toothbrushes, but the fact remains over 80% of dental disease occurs beneath the gums and between the teeth, neither of which can be reached by a brush… automatic or not.
Therefore, flossing is still the most single effected action you can take against tooth decay and gum disease (periodontal disease). With that in mind, I discovered a simple flossing technique aided by a flossing device. You have seen these, they have a ‘bow’ like shape with floss strung across the plastic, and a pointed tooth pick like device on the other end. But the problem has been most of them are strung with inexpensive floss which shreds’ as much as it cleans. I have even had to re-floss areas in my own mouth when the floss has been ‘caught’ between my teeth.
1. My numb hands have made it more difficult, as the years ebb on, to properly floss without an aid. Therefore, I am on a constant search for a better ‘mousetrap’ … and I believe I have finally found one, at Walmart of all places. It is a product called “Dentek for tight teeth and sensitive gums with advanced fluoride coating”. The floss is a satin like tape rather than thin un-waxed floss floss and as a bonus it is impregnated with fluoride. The coating improves the prevention of decay on susceptible spots between teeth and on the roots in that area. I highly advise and use this product.

2. As we age, and I mean any person over 40… our gums recede. As they recede the roots of the teeth are exposed. The roots do not have a protective enamel layer and are very susceptible to decay (this disease is called root caries). The only success I have ever had in controlling this malady is Prevident Fluoride (a prescription) item. I recommend the dry mouth product, because as we age, we have less saliva flow and this product compensates for that phenomenon. Also I believe burnishing (rubbing) the product into the roots with an automatic tooth brush gives added protection and is why I prefer it over a rinse.

In summary… I highly recommend and use: Dentek for tight teeth and sensitive gums with advanced fluoride coating (available at Walmart and I am certain most drug stores) as well as Prevident (I use once a day and only at night) for dry mouth. Both Marilyn and I use these products.
Of course you MUST use tooth paste and brush at least 2 times a day… there are several ‘target pastes’ now available to target decay, yellow teeth, givigivitis, etc, or you might want to use a modern product such as Colgate Total which will treat all…
(I receive no compensation for any products I endorse, nor do I own any stocks or bonds, to my knowledge… which would benefit me in any way. Since I do not know the content of all of our mutual funds I have to state: “to my knowledge”.)

Politics Over Patriots
Amid the confusion and spin centered around the wiki-leaks documents is a very under reported story… the disenfranchisement of our fighting men and women in next week’s election and the Justice Department’s disregarding of the Move Act. One might almost suspect that the leaks were released at this time to take attention off the lack of action by the Justice Department.

Such conduct is not new to politics; I suspect similar timing for the President’s upcoming trip to India. I believe this trip is timed to take the president out of the country in order to change the headlines from the likely devastating Democratic defeats at the poles in a week. The election will be held on Nov 2, while the trip will occur on Nov 6. For the record the Obamas will charge us taxpayers for 570 Rooms at a Five Star Hotel with about another 300 at other hotels (Economic Times).

And while the presidential entourage will be relaxing in luxury and insisting that the Indians provide him a teleprompter for his parliamentary address, our fighting men and women will be carrying out their duty at his behest in the frigid mountains of Afghanistan and holding off any Iraqi insurgents, no doubt encouraged by the latest leaks. One would think such an unthankful job like this would at least entitle these brave souls to a vote.
But the Democrats obviously believe in politics over patriotism. Many military votes are in jeopardy of not being counted, especially in the liberal bastions of New York and Illinois.
This problem was supposed to be fixed by the “Move Act” passed by Congress last October, but repeated requests for votes to be sent in a timely fashion have fallen on deaf ears. To date the Justice Department has only promised, nothing written, nothing enforceable, to make certain the military’s votes will be counted (Fox and Friends Oct 25, 2010). Moreover, the Justice Department has been asked to investigate, implement and prosecute since July.
The MOVE Act, enacted last October, ensures that servicemen and women serving overseas have ample time to get in their absentee ballots. The result of the DOJ’s alleged inaction in enforcing the act, say Eric Eversole and J. Christian Adams — both former litigation attorneys for the DOJ’s Voting Section — could be that thousands of soldiers’ ballots will arrive too late to be counted.
The rational for this scandalous inaction is purely political. Recent military votes have favored Republicans. With the unpopularity of this administration and several races to be determined by 500-1500 votes, the desperate Democrats are pulling out all stops, and that includes ‘forgetting’ to mail out the military votes in a timely fashion. It is appalling that while the Democrats lobby hard for illegal aliens to be granted voting rights, they simultaneously deprive the same constitutional guarantee to the guardians of that document.
Perhaps while they are fighting for us, over there, we can do something over here to ensure their votes are counted. Why not flood the Congressional Offices, Justice Department, and White House until the lines melt insisting these votes be counted. After all the UPS or American Express can mail the ballots and return them within 48 hours. Would that be too much to ask of us to do for them, to show them our appreciation for all they do for us?

*Little Johnny comes through again*
Just some history points to brighten your day:
The teacher said, “Let’s begin by reviewing some American History.
Who said ‘Give me Liberty , or give me Death’?”
She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Little Johnny a bright Navajo
Indian boy, who had his hand up: ‘Patrick Henry, 1775′ he said.
‘Very good!’
Who said, ‘Government of the People, by the People, for the People,
shall not perish from the Earth?’
Again, no response except from Little Johnny, ‘Abraham Lincoln, 1863′.
The teacher snapped at the class, ’Class, you should be ashamed, Little
Johnny knows more about history than you do.’

She heard a loud whisper: ‘Screw the Indians,’
‘Who said that?’ she demanded.
Little Johnny put his hand up, ‘General Custer, 1862.’
Now with almost mob hysteria someone said ‘You little jerk. If you say
anything else, I’ll kill you.’
Little Johnny frantically yells at the top of his voice, ‘ Michael
Jackson to the child witnesses testifying against him- 2004.’
The teacher fainted.
And as the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said,
‘Nuts, We’re screwed!’
Little Johnny said quietly, “*The American people, November 4, 2008*

Two old guys talking...
One said to the other: “My 72nd birthday was yesterday. Wife gave me an SUV”.

A word of advise from Kaybob…
While walking down the street one day a corrupt senator is hit by a car and dies.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter.
“Welcome to heaven,” says St. Peter. “Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, so we’re not sure what to do with you.”
“No problem, just let me in,” says the senator.
“Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from the higher-ups. What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.”
“Really? I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,” says the senator.
“I’m sorry, but we have our rules.”

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf, then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.
Also present is the devil, a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
They are all having such fun that before the senator realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.
“Now it’s time to visit heaven,” that saint says.
24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing harps and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the time goes by and St. Peter returns.
“Well, then, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.”
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: “Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.”
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell…
Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage and fire. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around the senator’s shoulders.
“I don’t understand,” the senator stammer. “Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and fire, and my friends look miserable. What happened?”
The devil smiles at him and says, “Yesterday we were campaigning. Today, you voted.”

Davenport Richard asks… guess who’s coming to dinner?
From GrammySammie
Catholic priest, an Indian doctor, a rich Chinese businessman and an Italian from New Jersey were waiting one morning for a particularly slow
group of golfers in front of them.
The Italian from New Jersey fumed, ‘What’s with those jerks? We’re waiting fifteen minutes between shots!’
The Indian doctor chimed in, ‘I don’t know, but I’ve never seen such poor golf!’
The Chinese businessman called out, ‘Move it, time is money!’
The Catholic priest said, ‘Here comes the greens’ keeper. Let’s have a word with him. Excuse me, sir!’ said the priest, ‘What’s wrong with that group ahead of us? They’re rather slow, aren’t they?’
The greens keeper replied, ‘Oh, yes. That’s a group of blind fire fighters. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime.’

The group fell silent for a moment.
The Catholic priest said, ‘That’s so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.’
The Indian doctor said, ‘Good idea. I’m going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there’s anything that he might be able to do for them.’
The Chinese businessman replied, ‘I think I’ll donate $50,000 to the fire fighters union in honor of these brave souls!’
The Italian from New Jersey said, ‘Why can’t they
play at night?

One of many pairs of Roy’s boots sold for $21,250.
Trigger sold for $266,500.
Do you remember the 1938 movie The Adventures of Robinhood with Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland? Well Olivia rode Trigger in that movie. Trigger was bred on a farm co-owned by Bing Crosby. Roy bought Trigger on a time payment plan for $2,500. Roy and Trigger made 188 movies together. Trigger even out did Bob Hope by winning an Oscar in the movie Son of Paleface in 1953.
It is extremely sad to see this era lost forever. Despite the fact that Gene and Roy ‘s movies, as well as those of other great characters, can be bought or rented for viewing, today’s kids would rather spend their time playing video games. Today it takes a very special pair of parents to raise their kids with the right values and morals. These were the great heroes of our childhood, and they did teach us right from wrong, and how to
have and show respect for each other and the animals that share this earth.

You and I were born at the right time. We were able to grow up with these great people even if we never met them. In their own way they taught us patriotism and honor, we learned that lying and cheating were bad, and sex wasn’t as important as love. We learned how to suffer through disappointment and failure and work through it. Our lives were drug free.
So it’s good-bye to Roy and Dale, Gene and Hoppy, The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Farewell to Sky King and Superman and Sgt. Friday. Thanks to Capt.Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers and Capt. Noah and all those people whose lives touched ours, and made them better.
It was a great ride through childhood.
Here’s a cute political joke from Grammy Sammie:
Subject: An old man
JANUARY 2013……….
One sunny day in January, 2013, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue , where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He
spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”

The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The old man said, “Okay,” and walked away.
The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine again told the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine saying, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to
speak to Mr. Obama. I’ve told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don’t you understand?”
The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you tomorrow, Sir.”

If you’ve started to wonder what the real costs of socialism are going to be, once the full program in these United States hits your wallet, take a look at the table. As you digest these mind-boggling figures, keep in mind that in spite of these astronomical tax rates, these countries are still not financing their social welfare programs exclusively from tax revenues! They are deeply mired in public debt of gargantuan proportions. Greece has reached the point where its debt is so huge it is in imminent danger of defaulting. That is the reason the European Economic Community has intervened to bail them out. If you’re following the financial news, you know Spain and Portugal are right behind Greece … and the United States is heading right down the same path…

Whether you love him or not… …Limbaugh Nailed This One ~_
What is Needed is Redistribution (Proper) of Compensation
By Rush Limbaugh:
I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the
September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in
Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either,
because you just don’t criticize anything having to do with
September 11. Well, I can’t let the numbers pass by because it says
something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this
country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack,
you’re going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum
guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million..
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed
in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of
which is taxable.
Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving
spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there’s a
payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child
hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.
Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of
$1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining
that it’s not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they
were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put
themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families
know the dangers… (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the
Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the
same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to
that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now
asking for compensation as well. You see where this is going, don’t you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country.
It’s just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the
military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the
green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families
have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make
sense?
However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you
don’t know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive
a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now
equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social
Security on retirement because they didn’t have to pay into the
system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get
out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and
the very people who placed them in harm’s way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.
I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join
ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for
our sons and daughters who are now fighting.

GOP Braces for ‘Epidemic’ ACORN-style Vote Fraud in Midterms
Monday, 25 Oct 2010 12:20 PM By: David A. Patten
(as of today there have already been voter frauds discovered in New York, Penn., Florida, and Nevada… I guess one could say this is merely ‘Chicago Politics gone national)

Like the mythological hydra that grew two heads for every one cut off, the controversial ACORN group has been reborn under a swarm of new names and poses an “epidemic” voter-fraud threat that could alter the outcome of midterm elections, GOP leaders warn.
David Norcross, chairman of the Republican National Lawyers Association, tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview that the community-organizing group ACORN “absolutely” has re-emerged since it was disbanded in March following a rash of voter-fraud investigations.
“Some of the old ACORN groups are back at it again,” Norcross tells Newsmax.TV. “They use quotas for registration. That encourages people to go out and sign up anybody, or nobody — just sign up addresses and things like that.”

This is a great idea for the people in NYC to do… EXCELLENT IDEA!
In Seville, Spain, the City Council authorized the construction of a Mosque on one of the empty pieces of land. The citizens did not want the mosque built in their vicinity and found a brilliant solution.
They buried a pig in the land, and made the news public. The Islamic law prohibits the construction of a mosque on lands desecrated by remains of pigs, therefore the Muslims had to renounce the construction on this desecrated land…
Astute Sevillans…The commentaries of the Civil Guard (Police) are very interesting.
Maybe it is the solution needed by New York to avoid the construction of a mosque in the vicinity of the twin towers.

Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

‘In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.’

Rev. Ron sends us this note from a friend:
Read this and weep.
The final paragraph in the following forwarded message prompted me to forward it to you. This is, however, the worst case scenario since the polls show that Obama will be dealing with a significantly changed Congress and even President Obama (with the power of the veto) has not locked himself into total repeal of each of the past tax relief provisions. Let’s hope the elite Congress is changed by your vote and mine and that the current deterioration in the U.S. economy (and our proposed tax provisions) can be reversed.
The argument that the taxes must come from somewhere has never been valid since the real issue is that the Government needs to stop spending money recklessly while they keep striving to shield their own income and perks from taxation. Likely tax increases do not have to show up in our own personal taxes since business tax increases will mean higher prices for all of us just as past and continuing restraints on the development of our own oil resources have resulted in substantially higher fuel prices for all of us. We shall always love the freedom to drive and the ability to warm our homes and residential water but why do we need to transfer so much of our wealth to the middle east ?
We are in a deep enough hole already and unless we truly want unadulterated SOCIALISM we must vote, and vote with great care not only in the coming election but in all future elections as well. John

NPR, Juan Williams, and Sharia law
Contact NPR today!
Dear Robert,
Our email yesterday focused on how Sharia law’s prohibition against any critique or criticism of Islam or Mohammed is negatively impacting our nation’s ability to publicly discuss and debate the issue of radical Islam.
Almost as if on cue, National Public Radio sacked commentator Juan Williams because of remarks he made on The O’Reilly Factor Monday.
This goes beyond political correctness. This is a media company, partially financed with our tax dollars, in effect doing the bidding of sharia law. American newspapers that refused to publish the satirical Mohammed cartoons did the same thing.
With these actions they betrayed the first amendment while capitulating to the demands of Sharia law.
Particularly disturbing is that there is the appearance that NPR was kowtowing to CAIR, the Council-on American Islamic Relations, which quickly organized a public relations effort demanding NPR “address” Juan Williams’ remarks.
CAIR is the organization whose co-founder, Omar Ahmad, is on record declaring “the Qur’an should be the highest authority in America,” and whose chief spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, has said he would like the government of America to be Islamic sometime in the future.
We urge you to contact NPR and express your outrage, in a firm but civil tone, at this politically correct assault on freedom of speech.

THE STATUE
This statue currently stands outside the Iraqi palace, now home to the 4th Infantry division. It will eventually be shipped home and put in the memorial museum in Fort Hood, Texas

The statue was created by an Iraqi artist named Kalat, who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad
Kalat was so grateful for the Americans liberation of his country; he melted 3 of the heads of the fallen Saddam and made the statue as a memorial to the American soldiers and their fallen warriors
Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months.
To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms.
Do you know why we don’t hear about this in the news? Because it is heart warming and praise worthy..
The media avoids it because it does not have the shock effect. But we can do something about it.

THE SILENT SERMON submitted by Jamestown Patti
A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.
It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his pastor’s visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.
The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone then he sat back in his chair, still silent.
The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember’s flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.
Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.
As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, ‘Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the firey sermon. I will be back in church next Sunday’.
God is Crazy about you… Jamestown Patti
We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.
The Lord is my Shepherd —– that’s a Relationship!
I shall not want —– that’s Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures —-that’s Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters —–that’s Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul —– that’s Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness –that’s Guidance!
For His name’s sake —– that’s Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death–that’s Testing!
I will fear no evil —– that’s Protection!
For Thou art with me —– that’s Faithfulness!
Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me —–that’s Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies—that’s Hope!
Thou annointest my head with oil —– that’s Consecration!
My cup runneth over —– that’s Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life—-that’s Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord —–that’s Security!
Forever —-that’s Eternity!
Face it, God is crazy about you!

“Praying for Bodily Health”
“Undoubtedly, it is good that you request bodily health from God. If He knows it is for your greater good, He will give it to you. If He does not give it, then it was not for your advantage. God knows, therefore, what is better for us. Let us seek only that our heart be free from sin.”

Billy Graham’s Prayer For Our Nation:
‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics.. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!’
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing
