Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass…it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”

Quotations to live by: ‘Try not to be a success, rather to be of value’. .. Albert Einstein

A Prayer for America and her people:

God our Father, walk through our nation, take away our idolatries, and restore Your presence to our society.  Please watch over, strengthen, and heal our families.  We beg You to draw us to You, forgive us our great national sin of apathy (i.e. using Your name in vain, accepting abortion, denying public prayer and public worship, placing the god of materialism before You, questioning your authority in marriage, etc) and forgive us our individual trespasses’, as well as empowering us to forgive those who trespass against us… Lord Jesus please help us with your matchless mercy and grace.

We ask this in the name of Jesus our Savior and Messiah

Amen.

Best of Bones:

Perilous Times for America: Treason from on High?

We are at war, it matters not if we used PC words like Overseas Contingency Operation, it is war.  It was not wise for America to ignore Osama bin Laden’s declaration of war in the early 1990’s.  How many Americans died because we treated the first several attacks like crimes, rather than an act of war?  While the War on Terror is an asymmetrical war, one in which we cannot draw lines of nationality, it is time to understand that there is a common thread to our enemy.  That line is not irregular, it is as straight as an arrow, and connects millions who take their book of faith, the Koran, and its political laws, Shiras, as legitimate.

Unfortunately America has returned to the 90’s when we treated Islamic terrorism as a crime, rather than a war.  President Obama and his minions in the Justice Department have insisted on reverting to the failed Clinton policies which cost American thousands of lives, and culminated in 911.  That policy was responsible for the embassy bombings in Africa to the mountains in Afghanistan, with Iraq, the USS Cole, and perhaps even Oklahoma City in between.  We are at war, we did not start it and it is about time we take off the gloves and let the enemy know we are not just ‘any nation, we are Americans, and America does not loose wars.  It is time to redefine this war without Political Correctness and with only one acceptable outcome, unqualified victory.

Moreover, and to the point, once we catch these terrorists and detain them they must be treated as enemy combatants, not American citizens.   They must not be gifted the very Constitutional Rights they are hell bent on destroying, and our fallen have died to preserve.  They are not criminals and this is not a police action, it is a war, and Islamo-fascists are the enemy.

Under the leadership of President Obama and his radical progressive Attorney General Eric Holder, the military tribunals were halted in favor of civilian trials granted these on-citizen terrorists Constitutional Rights.  A. G. Holder guaranteed that they would be found guilty and executed, a statement which the defense used to throw out several charges in the recent trial of terrorist Ghailiani (African Embassy Bomber).  He was charged with 286 counts of murder and conspiracy.  Despite overwhelming .evidence, most which was thrown out on ‘constitutional grounds’, he was found ‘not guilty’ for 285/286 charges.

What most believe would have been an open and shut case in a military tribunal, was bogged down by a combination of a liberal judge and a team of defense lawyers.

Ghailani Found Not Guilty on 285 of 286 Charges

The Manhattan jury deliberated over seven days before finding Ghailani guilty of just one count of conspiracy to destroy U.S. buildings. He was acquitted of multiple other counts including murder and murder conspiracy.

Prosecutors said Ghailani helped an al-Qaida cell buy a truck and components for explosives used in a suicide bombing in his native Tanzania on Aug. 7, 1998. The attack in Dar es Salaam and a nearly simultaneous bombing in Nairobi, Kenya, killed 224 people, including 12 Americans…

The Department of Justice says it is “pleased” with the guilty verdict on one count, which carries a 20 year minimum sentence, according to ABC. Ghailani was aided during his trial by the judge’s decision to exclude key testimony from one witness because the government learned of the witness’s identity during a CIA interrogation of Ghailani that employed so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques.”More on the case against Ghailani here from Thomas Joscelyn

Perhaps what is more egregious is what has transpired since the elections of Nov 3rd.  The president has not only continued to ignore the will of the people, in my opinion by unilaterally ‘surrender’, he has all but invited a major attack on US soil.  First we have still not received a plausible explanation for the Nov. 9th ICBM launch off the coast of California.  Giving inane explanations (airplane exhaust!) for an obvious ballistic missile launch off the coast of California, (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/09/national/main7036716.shtml) does not nullify the fact that we have been intimidated by a foreign nation in our own territorial waters.  Within a week of that launch, Obama began to push the START treaty.  Once again we are told that time is of the essence, and it must be ratified before it is either debated or read.  In fact he has already sig .(http://www.aolnews.com/category/health/). This treaty will assure that America’s nuclear arsenal will never be modernized and remain an arsenal fraught with 1950’s nuclear technology.  The president has arrogantly signed the treaty pressed it.  Haven’t we heard that story before, “The Financial Bill, the Healthcare Bill, TARP, and the Stimulus Package?  When will Congress ‘man-up’ and do ‘the right thing’?  And, for the record once the lame duck Senate ratifies this treaty it immediately becomes law, without debate, without disclosure, and without concern for the best interest of America.

To make matters worse he, by Executive Order, granted the anti-missile shield to Russia, along with our NATO allies.  Therefore, the decades of technology and billions of dollars it took to intimidate the Russians into an utter Cold War defeat has just been nullified http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-11-20/russia-will-cooperate-with-nato-on-missile-shield-sets-terms.html). What is more, there are no requirements for the Russians.  It may go down as the most one sided surrender in history.  And what makes us think the Russians will not sell it to rogue nations like North Korea, Iran, China, and Venezuela… any which could have been guilty of that Nov. 9th launch.

At best we may have just witnessed the deconstruction of America, at worse it may have been an outright surrender leaving us extremely vulnerable to an imminent nuclear and/or EMP attack.

“WHERE is my SUNDAY paper?!” The irate customer calling the newspaper office, loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was.

“Madam”, said the newspaper employee, “today is Saturday.  The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY.”

There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter,

“Well, that’s why no one was at church today.

Dr Tim

Johnny’s Mother looked out the window and noticed him “playing church” with their cat.
He had the cat sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back To the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water.

She called out, “Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!”

Johnny looked up at her and said, “He should have thought about that before he joined my church.”

So I said to him, “Barack, I know Abe Lincoln, and you ain’t Abe Lincoln.”

For those who study history — you recall that despite Obama’s continuous attempts to quote Lincoln as a Democrat — President Lincoln was a Republican President!

SO WHY DOESN’T OBAMA USE THIS FAMOUS LINCOLN QUOTE?????????

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Kaybob and Italian Pigs:

The Three Little Pigs – Italian Style

Once upon a time there were three little pigs. The straw pig, the stick pig and  the brick pig.

One day this nasty old wolf came up to the straw  pig’s house and said, “I’m gonna huff and puff and blow your house down.”  And he did !!!

So the straw pig went running over to the stick pig’s house and said, “Please   let me in, the wolf just blew down my house.” So the stick Pig let the  straw pig in.

Just then the wolf showed up and said, “I’m gonna  huff and puff and blow your house down.” And he did !!!

So  the straw pig and the stick pig went running over to the brick pig’s house  and said, “Let us in, let us in, the big bad wolf just blew our houses  down!”

So the brick pig let them in just as the wolf showed up The wolf said, “I’m gonna huff and puff and blow your house down.” The straw pig and the stick pig were so scared! But the brick pig picked up the phone and made a call.

A  few minutes passed and a big, black Caddy pulls up. Out step two massive pigs in pin striped suits and fedora hats. These pigs come over to the wolf, grab him by the neck and beat the living stuffing out of him, then one of them pulled out a gun, stuck it in his mouth and fired, killing the wolf, then they tied cement blocks around his feet  threw his sorry ass into the creek then they got back into their Caddy and  drove off.

The straw pig and stick pig were amazed!!! “Who were those guys?”  they asked.
“Those were my cousins… the Guinea Pigs

For Deeper Dudes

Norma (Notes from Norma) sent the article below… as a father of a war hero, I had all I could do not to openly sob.  To know how lucky we are to have David, let alone our two grandchildren born in the past three years is beyond comprehension.  Yet the family she writes about was not so lucky.  Please read and understand this is a war…

Now here it that Note from Norma:

MAY GOD BLESS THIS AIRLINE CAPTAIN:

He  writes: My lead flight attendant  came to me and said, ”We  have an H.R.  on this flight.” (H.R.  stands for human remains.) “Are they military?”  I asked.

‘Yes’,    she said.

‘Is there an escort?’ I  asked.

‘Yes, I  already assigned him a seat’.

‘Would  you please  tell him to come to the flight deck.  You can board him early,” I said..

A short while later, a  young army sergeant entered the  flight deck.  He was the image of the  perfectly dressed soldier.

He  introduced himself and  I asked him about his soldier.  The escorts of these fallen soldiers talk about them as if they are still alive and still with us.

‘My soldier is on his way back to Virginia,’  he said.

He proceeded to answer my questions, but offered no words.

I asked him if there was anything I could do for him and he said  no.    I told him that he had the toughest job in the military and that I appreciated the work that he does for the families of our fallen soldiers.

The first officer and I got up  out of our seats to shake his hand.  He left the flight  deck to find his seat.

We completed our preflight checks, pushed back and performed an uneventful departure.  About 30 minutes into our flight I  received a call from the lead flight attendant in the cabin.

‘I just found out  the family of the soldier we are carrying, is on board’, she said.  She then proceeded to tell me that  the  father, mother, wife and 2-year old  daughter were escorting their son,  husband, and father home.    The family was upset  because they were  unable to see the container that the soldier was in  before we left. We  were on our way to a major hub at which the family was going to wait four hours for the connecting flight home to Virginia .

The father of the soldier told the flight attendant that  knowing his son was below him in the cargo compartment and being unable to see him was too much for him and the family to bear. He had  asked the flight  attendant if there was anything that could  be done to allow them to see him upon our arrival.  The family wanted to be outside by the cargo door  to watch the  soldier  being taken off  the airplane.. I could hear  the desperation  in the  flight attendants voice when she  asked me if there was anything I  could  do.. ‘I’m on  it’, I said. I told her that I  would get back  to her.

Airborne communication  with my company normally occurs in the  form  of  e-mail like messages.

I decided  to  bypass this system and contact my  flight dispatcher directly on a secondary  radio. There  is a radio operator in the operations control center who  connects you to the telephone of the  dispatcher.

I was  in direct contact with the dispatcher..  I explained the situation I had on board with  the family  and what it was the family  wanted.

He said he understood and that he would get back to me.

Two hours went by and I had not heard from the dispatcher.  We  were going to get busy soon and I needed to know what to tell the  family. I sent a text  message asking for  an update.

I saved the return  message from the dispatcher and the  following

is  the  text:

‘Captain,  sorry it has taken so long to get back to  you. There  is policy on  this now and I had to check on a few things.

Upon your arrival a dedicated escort team will meet the

aircraft,

The team will escort the family to the ramp and plane  side.  A van will be used to load the remains  with a secondary van for the family.  The  family will be taken to their departure area and escorted into the terminal where the remains can  be seen on the ramp.  It is a private  area for the family only.

When the  connecting aircraft arrives, the family will be  escorted onto the ramp and plane side to watch the remains being loaded for the final leg home.  Captain,  most of us here in flight control are veterans.    Please pass our condolences on to the family Thanks.

I sent a message back telling flight control thanks for a good job.    I printed out the message and gave  it to the lead flight attendant to pass on to the father.  The lead flight attendant was very thankful and told me, ‘You  have no idea how much this will  mean to them.’

Things  started getting busy for the descent, approach and landing.  After landing, we cleared the runway and taxied to the ramp  area.

The ramp is huge with 15 gates on  either side of the alleyway.    It  is  always a busy area with aircraft maneuvering every  which way to enter and exit.

When we  entered the ramp and checked in with the ramp  controller,  we were told that  all  traffic was being held for us.

‘There is a team in  place to meet the aircraft’, we were told.    It looked like it was all coming together, then I  realized that once we  turned the  seat belt sign off,  everyone would stand up at  once and  delay the family from  getting off the airplane.    As we approached our gate, I  asked the  copilot to tell the ramp  controller we were going to stop  short of  the gate to make an announcement to the  passengers.  He did that and  the ramp controller said, ’Take your time.’

I  stopped  the aircraft and set the parking brake    I pushed the  public address  button and said,  ‘Ladies and gentleman, this  is  your Captain speaking. I have  stopped short of our gate to make a  special announcement.  We have a passenger  on board who deserves our honor and respect.

His Name is  Private XXXXXX,  a soldier

who recently lost his life.  Private XXXXXX is  under your  feet in the cargo hold.  Escorting him today  is Army Sergeant  XXXXXXX.

Also, on board are his father, mother, wife, and daughter. Your entire flight crew is asking for all passengers to remain in their seats to  allow the  family to exit the aircraft first. Thank you.’

We  continued the turn to the gate, came to a stop and started our shutdown procedures.

A couple of  minutes later I  opened the cockpit door.  I  found  the two forward flight  attendants crying, something you just do not see.

I was told that after we came to a stop, every passenger on the aircraft  stayed in  their seats, waiting for the family to exit the aircraft.

When the family got up and gathered their things, a passenger slowly started to clap his  hands.

Moments later more  passengers  joined in and soon  the  entire aircraft was clapping.

Words  of ‘God  Bless You’, I’m sorry, thank  you, be proud, and other kind  words were  uttered to the family as they made their  way  down the aisle and out of the airplane.  They  were escorted down to  the ramp to finally be with  their loved one.

Many of the passengers  disembarking thanked me for the  announcement  I had made.

They were just words,  I  told them,  I could  say them  over and over again, but nothing I say will  bring back that brave soldier.

I  respectfully  ask that all of you reflect on this event  and the  sacrifices that millions of  our men and women have made to ensure  our freedom and safety in these United  States of AMERICA .

Prayer:        ‘Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.  Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and  their families for the selfless acts they perform  for us in our time of need. Amen.’

Prayer Request: When you  receive this, please stop for a moment and say a  prayer for our troops around the  world.

Subject: Now you know…

“Stewardesses”  is the  longest word typed with only the left hand  And “lollipop” is the  longest word typed with your right hand.
(Bet you tried this out mentally, didn’t you?)

No word in the English language rhymes with  month,  orange, silver, or purple.
“Dreamt” is  the only English word that ends in the letters “mt”.
(Are you doubting  this?)

Our eyes are always the same  size from  birth, but our  nose and  ears
never stop growing.

The sentence: ”The  quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”
uses  every letter of the alphabet.
(Now, you KNOW you’re going to try this out for accuracy, right?

The  words ‘racecar,’ ’kayak’
and  ’level’ are the  same whether they are read
left to  right or right to left (palindromes).
(Yep, I knew you were going to “do” this one.)

There  are only four words in the English language which end in “dous”:  tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous.
(You’re not doubting  this, are you?)
There  are two words in the English language that have all five vowels in  order: “abstemious” and “facetious.”
(Yes, admit it, you  are going to say, a e i o u)

TYPEWRITER  is the  longest word
that can be made using the letters only on one row of  the keyboard.
(All you typists are  going to test this out)

A  cat has 32 muscles in each ear. A  goldfish has a memory span of three  seconds.
(Some days that’s about what my memory span is.)

A “jiffy” is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second…

A  shark is the only  fish that can blink with both eyes.
A snail  can sleep for three  years.
(I know some people that could do this too.!)

Almonds  are a member of the peach family.

An  ostrich’s eye is bigger  than its brain.
(I know some people like  that also)

Babies are born  without kneecaps.  They don’t  appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.

February  1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.

Rubber  bands last longer when  refrigerated.

The average person’s left hand does 56% of the typing.
No wonder I am a good typist.

Good idea … one light bulb at a time ……

Check this out. I can verify this because I was in Lowe’s the other day for some reason, and just for the heck of it, I was looking at the hose attachments.. They were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace Hardware, and just for the heck of it, I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking..

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track. Let’s get behind her!

My grandson likes Hershey’s candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now…  I do not buy it any more.
My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico …. now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything..

This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, “Everyday Value …. ” I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats – they were the same except for the price.. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in – get ready for this – the USA in a company in Cleveland , Ohio .

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here…

So on to another aisle – Bounce Dryer Sheets…… yep, you guessed it, bounce cost more money and is made in Canada .. The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA – the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!

(We should have awakened a decade ago………..)
Let’s get with the program…… help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U. S. A. .

Prayer Update: brother Les (Sister Valerie) is in very serious condition.  Pray that his journey home will be in God’s timing, as well as swift and painless.
