God our Father, walk through our nation, take away our idolatries, and restore Your presence to our society.  Please watch over, strengthen, and heal our families.  We beg You to draw us to You, forgive us our great national sin of apathy (i.e. using Your name in vain, accepting abortion, denying public prayer and public worship, placing the god of materialism before You, questioning your authority in marriage, etc) and forgive us our individual trespasses’, as well as empowering us to forgive those who trespass against us… Lord show us mercy and grace.

We ask this in the name of Jesus our Savior and Messiah

The Obama State Department led by Hillary Clinton (remember that when she runs for president as a ‘moderate’), just handed over a ‘report card’ snitching on everything from perceived bigotry to downright lies… about the behavior of Americans… to the UN Human Rights Commission.  They accuse our nation of torturing prisoners, and, in general persecution of every minority from sea to shining sea.

So while our elitist president is taking his leisure in Hainesport, he is basically telling the world that a black man cannot succeed in this bigoted nation called America.  Are you kidding me?  He was elected, as former Vice Presidential candidate and Representative Geraldine Ferraro stated, because, not in spite of being, black.

It is a crying shame that the first black man to become president of this great nation has a view of America which is closer to Malcolm X than Martin Luther King.

Move over Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. The State Department has made it official: The United States violates human rights. In an unprecedented move, the Obama administration submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights detailing the progress and problems in dealing with human rights issues in this country. The document is a strange combination of left-wing history and White House talking points.

It describes how the United States discriminates against the disabled, homosexuals, women, Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics and those who don’t speak English. There is the expected pandering to Muslims, noting that the government is committed to “challenge misperceptions and discriminatory stereotypes, to prevent acts of vandalism and to combat hate crimes,” offenses that the American people evidently keep committing. And the current economic woes are blamed on the housing crisis, which itself was the result of “discriminatory lending practices.” The implication is that if Americans had only been less racist, they would be enjoying prosperity today.

I mean, there is nothing like feeding the rumors and half truths about America and then giving the world ammunition to deepen their hatred for America.  Where in the document does it explain ‘American opportunity and exceptionalism’?  America is the most altruistic nation which has ever existed.  Rather than make that statement, this administration continues its ‘blame America tour’, this time on the stage of the United Nations.

A more accurate summary of this document would be:  aiding and abetting the radical Muslim world.  The State Department is in effect telling them “You are right, America is the great satan.”

It was merely a few years ago that this President was accusing the Bush Administration of aiding and abetting by invading Iraq.  The argument went something like this: the radical Islamists used the invasion and war as a ‘recruiting tool’ .   If that was a recruiting tool what is this admission of ‘guilt’ by our State Department?  Our State Department denigrates America while the likes of Iran, China, and North Korea ignore the most basic human rights.  Never has there been an administration who gave the enemy more propaganda while their men and women are in harms way on battlefields half way across the globe.

Of course the problem of undocumented, illegal, immigrants was addressed… front and center.  But what was totally ignored is that if America is such a horrible place to live… why did they risk their lives coming here illegally and why not just return to Mexico?

In the digest of the human-rights condition of the United States, these authors wrote that they wanted to provide a “snapshot of the current human rights situation in the United States, including some of the areas where problems persist in our society.” It should come as no surprise that one of the “problem areas” pointed to in the report is the “plight” of immigrants, particularly in Arizona since the passage of S.B. 1070, the law aimed at eliminating the flow of crime and criminals across the southern border. Given the bent of the contributors to the UPR report, one would assume they would gleefully welcome the oversight of the United Nations into the laws of Arizona or any other sovereign state with the audacity to protect its borders…

The universality of the equal creation of and endowment of inalienable rights to all men is indisputable. The notion that somehow that premise logically gives rise to the conclusion that the United States is justified in imposing our interpretation of those beliefs at the point of a gun is ridiculous…

I guess the irony is how could America have so much hatred for minorities and still be the only predominately white nation to ever elect a black president?   Why haven’t  black African nations ever elected a white president? Moreover, why haven’t Islamic and Communist nations given basic human rights to Christians and other faiths, rather than persecute them?

It is important that we ask ourselves those questions as well as: How many radical Muslims will be recruited by this document alone?  How many dead Americans will this document be directly responsible for on the battle field and through terrorism?  How could America have been so wrong about hope and change?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We
walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel
guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ' This is the
Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are
received.  
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many
angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and
scraps from people all over the world.  
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second
section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.
Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and
delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how
busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station,
since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for
delivery to Earth.  
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door
of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated
there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section, my angel
friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed."  How is it that
there is no work going on here? ' I asked.  
"So sad," the angel sighed.  "After people receive the blessings that
they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments"  
"How does one acknowledge God's blessings? " I asked..  
"Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord. "
"What blessings should they acknowledge?"  I asked.  
"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If
you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish,
you are among the top 8% of the world ' s wealthy. "  
"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the
world who has that opportunity."  
"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .. You are
more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. "  
"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation . You are
ahead of 700 million people in the world.."

Child Abuse and the Church

This article was written by Rev. Chuck Swindoll after he uncovered an elder (deacon) in his church as a pedophile.  Please read and heed:

The church of the twenty-first century needs to awaken from its moral slumber. In this age of “enlightenment,” we have been taught to be tolerant. We have gone soft on the exposition of the Scriptures. We have learned to ignore sin rather than deal with it. We have adopted the flawed notion that God’s grace somehow covers a carnal lifestyle. What a horrible misunderstanding of grace!

Let me be blunt. Far too often within the Christian home, wives are battered, husbands are neglected, children are abused, and dark, shameful forms of sexual depravity occur. As the prophet Jeremiah said of the people of Judah: “Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush” (Jeremiah 6:15 NIV).

The one vestige of hope in the home used to be the innocent child. But now, not even children are safe. Many are used for sexual exploitation. Children are raped by relatives . . . girls are abused . . . boys become victims of incest. In their own homes, helpless children are molested—and by the very ones who should be protecting them!

Even Scripture reveals such awful carnality among God’s people. After King David’s adulterous affair with Bathsheba, David’s son Amnon lusted after his half-sister, Tamar. Amnon faked an illness and requested that Tamar bring him food in his bedroom. When she arrived, he grabbed her and—because he was stronger—raped her in spite of her resistance (2 Samuel 13:6–14).

Following this abhorrent act, this dear girl was awash in her grief. “Tamar put ashes on her head and . . . put her hand on her head and went away, weeping aloud as she went” (2 Samuel 13:19 NIV). When her father David heard of it, “he was furious” (13:21 NIV). But that’s it! He only got mad. David never got involved in the crisis.

When Tamar’s other brother Absalom heard of it, he told her: “Be quiet now, my sister; [Amnon] is your brother. Don’t take this thing to heart” (13:20). Can you believe those words? What stupid counsel! Don’t say anything? Keep silent when God’s law says Amnon should be stoned?But what could she do? Her brother said to hush, and her father did nothing. Tamar had no person to go to with her pain.

Both then and now, when such violations occur—with no one to act in defense of the helpless—the child faces a threatening future of moral confusion, personal shame, spiritual disillusionment, emotional scars, and family anger.

It is time we speak up in defense of the helpless. The innocent victims of sexual abuse need a safe place to share their stories . . . and they need direction toward the emotional and spiritual healing found in Jesus Christ.

The world has never provided a safe and secure place from those who would abuse children. That’s why the church must be that place. Yes, it is possible, in spite of the negative headlines. It is the responsibility of church leaders to make sure the church of God remains a place of trust and respect. A haven where no one is touched inappropriately. A refuge where hurting individuals can confide in a teacher, in an elder, in a pastor, or in an older friend. Shepherds must protect the sheep.

If for some reason your church (or your home) is not a safe place, you need to know that we are here for you at Insight for Living. We will give you counsel and help you understand in practical terms what steps you can take in your specific situation. Your circumstance may be very hard . . . but it is not hopeless.

If you are a parent or family member of someone who has been abused and you need guidance of how to come alongside this person and help the situation, we want to assist you. Whatever your situation, we believe in dispensing grace and mercy along with insight and direction. As difficult as it may be, the perpetrator needs to face criminal charges so that the crime is not repeated. While we cannot offer legal advice, we can direct you to those in your area who can help.

If you are a victim of sexual abuse, if you feel afraid to speak and need someone with a heart of compassion who will listen, we will be neither insensitive nor judgmental. We will believe you . . . and we will do all we can to help you.

Many today are living like Tamar did, with ashes of shame and humiliation on their heads, weeping aloud with no one to hear.
