Dear friends and family;
Two close friends are awaiting biopsy results: LMR and AD… pray for benign results…
In the mean time I had another problem with the catheter today and was seen by the doctor. The catheter was removed (PTL).
She had the post-surgical pathology report of the prostate. The news was not good. The cancer has spread into the lymph nodes and I will need further treatment. hormone therapy assures me of years, and who know they may have a cure by that time.
Faith is all important, and never forget, it rains on the believer and the unbeliever, and we must learn to live with stormy as well as sunny weather. Only the Lord knows why these things happen.
I will not allow this news to dilute my faith and you must not allow it to dilute yours. This is the time to lean and depend on the Lord… not ask why. Please continue to pray for our family (especially Marilyn).
Jesus Christ is God and He is in control… and I am His.
Dr B
Thanks Bob I look forward to renewing our friendship at the reunion next year.
Thanks Rita, you are in our prayers, best to ‘my boys’… Jason and Chad.
Brother Bill,
I read your blog yesterday to get an idea of your medical condition. I have been praying ever since, not with sadness but with a great hope. I awakened in the night to pray and got the word “armor bearer.” I began to see myself as your armor bearer, not just holding your hands up as Aaron held up the hands of Moses to see the battle won, but as one who could put the sword of the Spirit in your hand. This morning I re-read Ephesians 6:10-19 about the whole armor of God. Then I turned to the sword (Word) I used in my battle with cancer, Psalm 103:1-5 and focused on verse 3b “Who heals ALL our deseases”.
Know that Jesus and I are in your corner with you in this fight. Together we are powerful to the bringing down of strongholds. Blessings, Gary
Thanks Gary, I need all the prayers possible. But remember, no matter the outcome we win, because we live with Him here and we live with Him there.
Dear Bill,
David and Mary Herry came to our office today. During the course of the exam they mentioned that they knew you. They also mentioned your diagnosis of prostate cancer. I was very sorry to hear this. Be sure that both Pat and I will be praying for your recovery. Mary mentioned this web-site and that it would be a good way to contact you. At this point I have not had a chance to read any of your material – but intend to do so.
Part of the prayer of our church today is Psalm 42. The prayer that goes with it: Father in heaven, when your strength takes possession of us we no longer say, “Why are you cast down, my soul?” So now that the surging waves of our indignation have passed over us, let us feel the healing calm of your forgiveness. Inspire us to yearn for you always, like the deer for running streams, until you satisfy every longing in heaven.
This is a favorite Psalm of mine and when I read it this evening, I thought of you.
Peace My Friend,
Mike
